Research Scientist, State Estimation

Build robust state estimation systems that maintain centimetre-level accuracy in GPS-denied, dynamic industrial sites.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement real-time filtering and smoothing algorithms (EKF, factor graphs)
  • Integrate multi-modal sensor streams for reliable localisation
  • Develop degeneracy-aware algorithms that gracefully handle sensor failures
  • Benchmark and validate systems in the field

What we look for

  • PhD in robotics, aerospace, or applied mathematics
  • Deep expertise in Kalman filtering, SLAM, or factor-graph optimization
  • Experience shipping state estimation code on real platforms
  • C++ fluency; familiarity with GTSAM, Ceres, or similar libraries
